for the "unremarkable slice of everyday life".

maybe share a neat thing you learned. a conversation you overheard. something you used to do that you suddenly remember. i can't think of more examples but you get it. i think.

I have just moved to a new place, and I've discovered this long hiking path along the river. There, in the snow, I found out that there are badgers here. That makes me happy. When spring/early summer comes around I'm gonna come down to the river and watch the salmon return too.

DELIGHTFUL! i will patiently wait for pictures of your teeny-pawed neighbors.

today i learned that in sirens' original lore, they are bird ladies and not mermaids.
they also don't eat people or seduce them with sexy sex time. instead, they lure sailors with promises of knowledge. but once the sailors arrive (if they dont die by crashing into rocks first), the sirens literally talk them to death.

just thought that was cool! i love when more lore is hidden beneath existing interpretations.

so relatable why are they just like me.

i thought really hard for something i learned recently and its not exactly educational but one of the artists i followed on tumblr in highschool and check in on every now and again, recently became a tattoo artist in my area! i had no idea she lived locally to me, and i've deff got my eye on some of her designs im just going to ask her if she'd be willing to add a blush of color since the one i have rn has a lot of red.

I gave my coffee table some love today. Cleaning and massaging with teak oil. I just love treating wood. It's so satisfying.

small voice in the back of my head saying "be mature be mature be mature".
LOVE seeing well-built stuff be taken care of though. its becoming more and more rare/expensive so its important now more than ever \o/

i opened the blinds today to see trash/recycling blown ALL UP AND DOWN THE STREET so i rushed out there to grab it all. i know the trash guys get the big stuff but it was time sensitive... the wind is only going to get worse and blow it from the streets into yards- where people's dogs will eat it. more importantly MY dog.
when i say it was everywhere, i mean i filled 2 trash bags.

someone driving by said thank you and i smiled and waved instead of shouting "NO!! IM NOT DOING THIS FOR YOU ITS FOR MY LITTLE BABY CHILD!!!" (lucca. my dog. whom i birthed.)

I learned about the existence of Bryce Canyon National Park by a guy in the bus today. It's absolutely gorgeous looking.
