i've talked quite a few times about making a lyric comic (i've done thumbnails for em too!) but it's a project with such a long timeline that often i get distracted with other projects and don't see it through.

would anybody wanna go on this lyric comic(or possibly animatic) journey with me? i think it would be a really fun project to learn different things with and to push our skillsets.

if anybody wants to buddy up, lmk!!  :kirbart:

Can you describe in a paragraph what lyric comic is for someone who knows nothing?

a lyric comic is usually a kind of online comic where the visuals are set to the lyrics of the song, having you scroll through the series of images 1 by 1 instead of a normal comic page and sometimes using the format in interesting compositional ways. most of them are long-posts first and then made into music videos but some are made to be edited into a music video directly, and those can have more of an animatic feel.

most of my favorite ones are homestuck related (it was a big thing in that fandom) but some examples are this one for gravity falls (video version) and this one for homestuck (video version)

Oh I see. That sounds pretty fun. Like a music video but in comic format. I think that would be a fun challenge for me to partake in. I do have some tangential experience. Remember my dad zone animated video? (just found out it was taken down dc it violated community guidelines lol)

I would love to take part and draw a couple of frames! I always wanted to learn how to do silly little animations, but the projects often felt a bit too overwhelming for me. I think a collaboration is a great cozy way to dip my toes into that  :comfmonk:
