bandcamp is a really cool music platform that i dont think enough people use/talk abt, so i thought id make a fun thread where we could help give some love 2 bandcamp! :gimmiflowers:
share a song you really like, or just one that fits your mood for today! i'll start(https://f4.bcbits.com/img/a2988574029_16.jpg)
'Infohazard' (https://ninajirachi.bandcamp.com/track/infohazard) on 'I love my computer' (https://ninajirachi.bandcamp.com/album/i-love-my-computer) by Ninajirachi
its an up-beat electronic song that rises as it progresses. the lyrics themselves describe how nina saw a violent video of a man dying when she 14, but this song exists just as one piece of the album which is a love letter to the internet and her relationship with technology. if you watch the music video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2ZdeIKJA8c) it shows how the internet is a place where we spend a lot of time on, and that it also facillitates human connection. despite the dark lyrics (or maybe because of them) i find myself coming back alot to this song, and i've found it means a lot to me :blushy:
I love bandcamp! It's basically how I buy all my music!!!! as I said I don't use spotify, I hate how they treat artists there, so I much prefer to buy directly from them where I can, or second best: bandcamp
this song currently rules my life. This band came from the windmill scene seemingly out of no where, following Black Country, New Road, black midi, etcetc.
I could listen to Plan 75/76 over and over all day (and I regularly do).

Ha! I've been blasting that album so hard. Especially infohazard and iPod touch
Here's a band I discovered yesterday, it's like a bunch of Scandies (Sweden, Iceland, Finland...) based in Berlin, and it's got that slow heavy beautiful dark kinda vibe that I just love.

also that little shriek at 5:40 is just... mmm
There's an immensely fascinating experimental electronic catalogue on Bandcamp composed by a friend/acquaintance of mine, Blindslime (https://blindslime.bandcamp.com/) or previously Ditch Pawn (https://ditchpawn.bandcamp.com/)

Dub The Frequencies Of Love (https://gogolbordello.bandcamp.com/track/dub-the-frequencies-of-love) by Gogol Bordello
i stumbled on this song by complete chance today and i really dig its album art + its vibe, i dont think its super profound or anything (i looked the lyrics up on genius and had a bit of a head-scratch over them) but its high energy and i have respect for any song that sounds like it could be sung by pirates.(https://f4.bcbits.com/img/a0864338652_16.jpg)
Cuntradiction (https://lolahol.bandcamp.com/track/cuntradiction) by Lolahol
this is also a song that i've been comming back 2 recently, it just sounds so spooky and mysterious and the narrative of the song is pretty straightforward about someone who isn't satisfied with the full truth of a relationship, and kind of only wants the surface level perfect picture of it but also wants 2 break up bcz the relationship sucks LOL. it's a very "how can i apply this to my favorite fictional characters" kind of song, which i like!Quote from: guespiere on Feb 25, 2026, 12:15 PMI love bandcamp! yeyeye reading ur intro i figured and it inspired me 2 make this thread. while websurfing i found this list of bandcamp alternatives (https://internetbasedghosts.neocities.org/labels) if u wanna get even more indie about. and oh cool, a song about loathing, my favorite topic!!!! put the album on as im writing this post and it deff has that same angry desperate energy as black country, new road. kind of a different vein of angry desperate music but u should check out liguna ignotas stuff. its more like, string instead of guitars but i rly like her stuff.Quote from: AutoReiv on Feb 25, 2026, 09:49 PMHere's a band I discovered yesterday, it's like a bunch of Scandies (Sweden, Iceland, Finland...) based in Berlin, and it's got that slow heavy beautiful dark kinda vibe that I just love.
oooo the vibe here is one hundo percent immaculate. its giving duvet, like the album that the OP from serial experiments lain is on. very atmospheric, kind of song u wanna play in a room w/good echo LMAO. also appreciate that the track really takes its time. i feel like its hard to find tracks that are good AND over 4 mins nowadays.Quote from: finlaypatrickduffill on Feb 27, 2026, 12:14 PMThere's an immensely fascinating experimental electronic catalogue on Bandcamp composed by a friend/acquaintance of mine, Blindslime (https://blindslime.bandcamp.com/) or previously Ditch Pawn (https://ditchpawn.bandcamp.com/)
oooooo ur friend has quite the catalog! listened to 'dream over sorry' and it sounds very anxious LMAOO. v digital ooky spooky which is fun. 'our souls do writhe upon their tongues also has a nice spooky feel to it but also more mellow, like walking thru a forest. or maybe its just placebo from the album art LOL, still very cool.

ya theyre a lot like Black Country! the """genre""" is the windmill scene & it's only called that because all these super similar bands play at some Windmill Pub in London & it kinda caught on. I love that scene, though, theres a bit of like... bite to the music, but its much more chilled than I once really liked.
ALSO I got SINNER GET READY and I am
1. a BIG fan of artists who just have CAPSLOCK turned on
2. a BIG fan of songs that are like 9 minutes+ long
3. surprised at the recc! I'm not entirely sure her like dealio, yet, but the 2 albums I've perused so far have seemingly heavily religious tones? idk if it's in satire or what but, I am surprised!! not in a bad way or nothing! its pretty cool tho having a song called REPENT NOW CONFESS NOW lmfao

oohhhh THATS what the windmill scene means, wont lie every time u said it i was just nodding my head over here like i knew wtf u were talking about ( i did not know what you were talking about). it's cool that all of these artists preformed in the same place!
IIRC she created the liguna ignota project after getting out of a very abusive relationship, and she channeled these feelings and experiences into her music. so i'm leaning twoarddsssss, not satire? but also not inheritly religious. moreso using the sonic and symbolic language religion gives to explore her themes.
luckily she said in an interview that she's in a better mental-headspace now, but she also said no more liguna ignota albums LOL

I sometimes find new music just by thinking of random words and seeing if a Bandcamp artist has it. That is how I found one of my favourite bands, Catholics. They mostly make instrumental tracks in the Math rock genre. This particular one is my favourite of theirs: Play Back The Reel to Make Time Stand Still (https://catholics.bandcamp.com/track/play-back-the-reel-to-make-time-stand-still) :nukoyay:

oh this is fantastic, I love math rock, I was already a fan like 15 seconds in
I don't actually have a bandcamp account, but I looooooove listening to this
Simon Stålenhag's The Electric State (https://simonstalenhag.bandcamp.com/album/the-electric-state)
If I want something more chill, otherwise I keep going back to Maozon - Deep Water (https://maozon.bandcamp.com/track/deep-water) which is so ffxiv coded and I love it.
